Moehler obliged and tossed the ball into the umpire, who found nothing wrong. A laughing Moehler then got Lee to ground out to second.
"That's between me and Moehler," Lee said. "We've got a little thing going on. It's all in fun."
Panama also had some fun at the plate against Moehler, reaching him for five runs in three innings.
New York Mets prospect Ruben Tejada hit a two-run double, part of a four-run second inning. Moehler also gave up a third-inning home run to Ruben Rivera.
Houston outfielder Jason Michaels had three RBIs, including a solo home run and a two-run single in the Astros' six-run fifth. Chris Johnson added a two-run double.
Lee finished the day 0-for-2 with a walk. Panama was scheduled to leave later Thursday for San Juan where it plays Puerto Rico on Saturday.
Houston manager Cecil Cooper said Lee's swing isn't where it needs to be, but Lee said he is not worried.
"I'm very happy the way I am right now," Lee said. "For me right now, it's about seeing pitches."
Astors reliever Clay Hensley, who was roughed up for eight runs on five hits in 2-3 of an inning against the Mets on Sunday, pitched two hitless innings against Panama.
"He pitched well," Cooper said. "I think the first time out he might have been too revved up. Today, he was very efficient. He was down in the strike zone and it was good to see him do that."
