Rodriguez is seeking $3 million, while the Astros offered him $2.25 million. Geary asked for $2.1 million, and the team countered with a $1,425,000 bid.
MEDICAL WATCH:
RHP Chris Sampson (right elbow tendon surgery in October 2008) is optimistic he'll be ready for spring training.
RHP Geoff Geary (groin surgery in October 2008) should be fully healthy in time for spring training.
LF Carlos Lee (left pinkie surgery in August 2008) planned to begin hitting off a tee in January. If healthy, he might play for Team Panama in the World Baseball Classic.
