Closer LaTroy Hawkins hurt his right hip Saturday afternoon when he slipped trying to catch Hunter Pence's throw home as Bobby Scales scored the winning run on Alfonso Soriano's single.

"I'm sore everywhere," said Hawkins, who was limping around. "I feel like I was in a car accident. Just slipped backing up home plate. I got jarred. I felt fine last night.

"(Sunday) morning when I woke up I had a lot of soreness."

Hawkins was a bit surprised that his right side hurt because he fell on his left side.

"I fell on my left side and then to add insult to injury when the ball hit the concrete (backstop), it almost came back and hit me in the face," he said. "I caught it, but still."

Cecil Cooper didn't have Hawkins available Sunday, when right-hander Chris Sampson pitched 1 2/3 innings and got the save despite allowing two runs. The runs were the first scored against Sampson in his past five appearances.

ASTROS 6, CUBS 5: RHP Brian Moehler beat Rich Harden and the Cubs thanks in large part to a four-run fourth inning. Moehler didn't have great stuff but was unscathed often enough on a windy day to make it hold up through five innings. In the big fourth inning, C Ivan Rodriguez delivered the key blow, smacking a 95 mph Harden heater into the center field bleachers for his 300th career homer. The Cubs marked twice in the ninth and scored four of their runs on extra-base hits.
