Apr. 26, 2009 (Baseball Musings delivered by Newstex ) -- I thought the Brewers /Astros gave would be a slugfest, but both Parra and Ortiz bent, but didnt break. Each lasted just five innings. Each allowed eight base runners on hits and walks, and Ortiz added a hit by pitch. The offenses just couldnt deliver too much, as only five runs in total scored, two of them charged to Parra unearned. The Astros led 3-2 after five, and the bullpen kept the game scoreless the rest of the way. Houston is now just 1 1/2 games behind the Brewers for fifth place. Its a nice comeback for Russ Ortiz. Hes still not very good, but right now hes good enough to win a few games for the Astros.
