ST. LOUIS (AP) - The Houston Astros placed right-hander Doug Brocail on the 15-day disabled list Sunday with a strained shoulder.

Right-hander Jeff Fulchino was recalled from Triple-A Round Rock and will join the team in Pittsburgh on Monday.
Brocail (1-0) was injured working an inning of relief on Friday night in St. Louis, and an MRI exam on Saturday revealed the strain. He earned the Astros' lone victory in the first five games, getting the last out in a 10-inning win over the Cubs on Tuesday.
The 29-year-old Fulchino is 0-1 with an 8.79 ERA in 13 career games with Kansas City and Florida. The Astros claimed him off waivers from the Royals last December.
